In conclusion from my research I am more confident in our decision to use no dialogue throughout our trailer and to instead rely on the use of shot types, camera angles and music to portray out storyline and the emotions of the characters.

Speach Inspiration
Throughout the planning of our media production myself and my peer's were torn between the choice to use speech or not. We looked at a range of productions from amateur through to that of professionals. We found that the speech in amateur productions came across as forced and often made the production appear lower budget then it really was, this is due to the un-professional actors used. In response to this I started to research more into silent movies, not necessarily from our chosen genre of social realism. Although incredibly dated I was particularly impressed how 'Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans' made in 1927 managed to maintain the audiences and my attention even though no dialogue was used throughout the entire 95 minute movie. Although no speech is actually heard 'Sunrise' still shows the mouth movements of characters from a longer distance than what we would normally expect. This is a technique I would like to try, however it relies heavily on the reactions and facial expressions of characters to hint at what the conversation may have been about.
