After deciding on a narrative and the general look and feel of our media product we felt choosing the title was an obvious next move. We wished to use a title relation g to the car crash, which represented our film accurately but also was exciting and would grab an audiences attention. Our original research lead us to choosing the title 'DR10' this refers to the code used by police regarding a drink driving accident. We felt this was enigmatic and not like anything we had ever heard of before and it also related to pour car. However when producing our poster and listening to audience feedback we realised the look of the word was not aesthetically pleasing and the sound was not rememberable and hard to say.
Further research of terms relating to automotive lead us to considering the title INERTIA. Inertia is a term used in physics and the automotive industry, and refers to the theory that object will remain moving or still unless affected by an outside force such as friction. We felt that this title appeared professional. It also had underlying meanings relating to the feelings and situation of our main protagonist, such as her inability to leave the relationship formed with our antagonist 'Ross' unless interference was made by a third party.
